TRiO-SSS (Student Support Services)

Funded by a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Education, TRiO-SSS (Student Support Services) is a program designed to provide academic development opportunities to students who are currently receiving the Federal Pell Grant, while motivating students to successfully complete a postsecondary education. Students are eligible to apply for TRiO-SSS if they are a first-generation college student, if there is demonstrated financial need, or if there is a documented disability. TRiO-SSS services include academic tutoring in a variety of subject areas, specialized academic advising and educational planning, workshops and seminars on study skills and organization, and counseling and financial aid services that include assistance with financial planning and financial literacy. In addition, participants are offered opportunities to participate in college transfer tours and other cultural enrichment activities. Students interested in becoming part of the TRiO-SSS program should contact the Student Success Center.
