Medical Office Administration - Healthcare Management (AAS) A25310H
The Medical Office Administration curriculum Healthcare Management track prepares individuals for employment in supervisory or managerial positions within healthcare organizations.
Students receive in-depth training for specific skills needed to manage healthcare operations including personnel/human resources management and legal/regulatory requirements in various healthcare settings. Coursework also includes computer applications, oral and written communication, medical terminology, electronic health records, introductory healthcare management, legal and regulatory issues, healthcare customer relations.
Graduates from this track should qualify for employment opportunities in a variety of healthcare settings including medical and dental offices, hospitals, insurance companies, laboratories, medical supply companies, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare related organizations. Students may be eligible to sit for an industry recognized certification, such as the Certified Professional Practice Manager (CPPM) exam, upon graduation.
