History of Cleveland Community College

In 2025, Cleveland Community College proudly celebrates 60 years of changing lives and fostering success. Since its first classes in the fall of 1965, the College has undergone several name changes, expanded its offerings, and adapted to meet the community’s needs.

One of the first programs offered, Practical Nursing, remains a cornerstone of the College’s commitment to healthcare education. It has been joined by the Associate Degree Nursing (RN) program and numerous other healthcare-related programs, reflecting the College’s dedication to preparing skilled professionals for vital roles.

The College has also trained countless law enforcement officers, firefighters, teachers, manufacturing technicians, and business professionals. The campus has grown with the construction of new buildings and the introduction of additional programs. Adopting the Yeti as the school mascot and adding Yetis athletics has ignited a new spirit and energy around campus.

While the College continues to evolve and expand, its commitment to the community is unwavering. The College will provide education and training opportunities that drive success among our citizens and businesses.
