Medical Office Administration - Patient Services Representative (AAS) A25310S

The Medical Office Administration - Patient Services Representative curriculum track prepares individuals for employment as patient service professionals in healthcare organizations. 

Students receive in-depth training to develop the soft skills necessary for effective communication and customer satisfaction in healthcare. Emphasis is placed on positive communication skills required to discuss sensitive topics, facilitate difficult decisions, and help patients cope with their circumstances. Coursework also includes computer applications, oral and written communication, medical terminology, electronic health records, introductory healthcare management, legal and regulatory issues, healthcare customer relations, and other topics.

Graduates should qualify for employment opportunities in a variety of healthcare settings including medical and dental offices, hospitals, insurance companies, laboratories, medical supply companies, laboratories, long-term care facilities and other healthcare related organizations.
