Medical Office Administration - Medical Billing and Coding (AAS) A25310M

The Medical Office Administration - Medical Billing and Coding curriculum track prepares individuals for employment as coding, billing, and revenue cycle management professionals in healthcare organizations. 

Students receive in-depth training in accurate assignment of procedure and diagnostic codes, preparation of insurance claims, coding and billing regulations, and accounts receivable oversight. Coursework also includes computer applications, oral and written communication, medical terminology, electronic health records, introductory healthcare management, and healthcare customer relations.

Graduates should qualify for employment opportunities in a variety of healthcare settings including medical offices, hospitals, medical supply companies, laboratories, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare related organizations. Students may be eligible to sit for an industry recognized certification, such as the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or the Certified Professional Biller (CPB) exam, upon graduation.
